Bangladesh is one of the most populated countries in the world, with a population of about 160 million. It has a unique health care system that extends from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOH&FW) in the capital to Health Assistants at the local level. However, due to a lack of funding, the service coverage is not adequate or uniform across the entire nation. Privatising the country’s healthcare system is crucial for Bangladesh. And so, in 2010, with the approval of the MOH&FW of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the University of Dhaka, the MH Samorita Hospital & Medical College was established.
One of the top medical schools in Bangladesh for MBBS studies is MH Samorita Medical College. It was established in 2010 and is situated in Bangladesh’s capital, Dhaka. The affordable dental medical education provided by MH Samorita Medical College is its primary claim to fame.
To fill this gap and the students’ aspirations in the current environment, MH Samorita Medical College and the Dental Unit have taken action. The MH Samorita Medical College is also home to a 500-bed teaching hospital. The ICU, Catha Lab, CT Scan, CCU, NICU, HDU, and Dialysis unit are among the well-equipped medical facilities available at this hospital.
Students who are accepted into the college will spend the next five years learning and practicing medicine before graduating as doctors, ready to serve humanity with compassion and skill. The college is renowned for its dental medical education in addition to MBBS. A 500-bed teaching hospital is connected to the college. The hospital is excellent at providing both general and specialized services like ICU, CCU, NICU, HDU, and Dialysis unit because it is well-equipped with the most recent technology. All of the college’s graduates receive degrees that have been approved by MCI and the university that is affiliated with WDOMS. After completing their coursework, students who pass the country’s Foreign Medical Graduate Examination are eligible to practice medicine there.
Foreign students who are interested in admission to the BDS program must pass the SSC, SLC, O-level, GCSE, or equivalent exam with a minimum of five subjects and an average score of at least 60%, or a 3.50 GPA. Additionally, you must pass the HSC/A-level/12th grade or equivalent exam with a minimum average of 60% or a 3.50 GPA in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. However, Biology must be passed with a 60% or 3.50 GPA.
All international students must submit an application through the Bangladesh Embassy to the Director General of Health Service of the Government of Bangladesh for an equivalent certificate. The respected country's Education Board or Ministry of Education attests to all diplomas, report cards, certificates from other institutions, and copies of passports.
