In Bangladesh, the government established Pabna Medical College in 2008. It is situated in Pabna’s Hemayetpur. All graduates receive a five-year MBBS degree from the college, as well as a one-year internship following graduation. The Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council accepts the degree.
The Pabna Medical College campus spans a sizable plot of land and includes a massive, six-story academic structure with all contemporary conveniences. Each discipline has its own departments in the academic building. Additionally, it has classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, and dissection rooms. Most meetings, seminars, and symposiums held on campus take place in the Tanija Haidar Auditorium. It was given that name in honor of Tanija Haidar, a college student from the ninth cohort who died in a car accident in Pabna. The academic building also has a library with a sizable collection of books and magazines for students and teachers, including both medical and non-medical works.
The internet is always accessible at the library. In addition, a room dedicated to indoor sports is located right next to the library, where table tennis is primarily played. In order to provide the students with dining options, the academic building also has a canteen on the ground floor called “Zara Canteen and Restaurant.”
In addition to the academic building, there is a Shahid Minar to remember the victims of the 1952 Great Language Movement and their sacrifices.
Every year on February 21, also known as “The International Mother Language Day,” the Pabna Medical College family pays floral tribute to the martyrs. For the male and female students, there is a two-story and a three-story hostel building, respectively. A significant tree-planting programme has been put into place on and around the campus. A nuclear medicine facility is located on the Pabna Medical College campus. Only one of the six medical colleges in the nation has the honour of having a nuclear medicine centre.
