After a two-year prescribed course of study, the first professional MBBS examination under Rajshahi University was held in July 2010. The sixth batch of students is currently enrolled in the college. The number of seats increased from 50 to 125 because Rajshahi University and the Ministry of Health were pleased with the academic results.
The Prime Medical College Hospital officially began operations on August 17, 2007, with a bed capacity of 310, which has since been increased to 750 beds. It is a tertiary care medical center. The hospital offers a wide range of medical and surgical services. The hospital has well-equipped departments for general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, anesthesia, cardiology, gastroenterology, nephrology, neurology, dermatology, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, ENT, urology, neurosurgery unit, ICU, CCU, and neonatal ICU. Additional services include a Dialysis Center, Radiology & Imaging Stone Crash Center, Specialist Consultation Center, and Diagnostic Center with modern equipment.

Graduation takes six years at the Prime medical college hospital in Bangladesh. There are two distinct parts to the study. A theoretical and research-based degree requires five years of coursework, followed by a 12-month internship (Practical and work experience).
To practice medicine, one must be able to register with BMDC. Internships are required.
